Real-Time Captioning Services
Translation services to suit your needs.
Real-time captioning (also known as computer-assisted real-time transcription, or CART) is a service similar to court reporting in which a transcriber types what is being said at a meeting or event into a computer that projects the words onto a screen. This service, which can be provided on-site or remotely, is particularly useful for people who are deaf or have hearing loss but do not use sign language.
Workshops
Expanding interpreters’ skills
We offer opportunities to earn continuing education units (CEUs) for interpreters to satisfy state licensing and certification requirements. These are provided occasionally throughout the year. We receive suggestions from interpreters and consumers on topics for trainings are timely and relevant to meeting community demands.
Mentoring
We strive for a relationship with open communication to ensure mentee’s goals are being met.
A major goal for most mentees is learning from their mentors to develop professional knowledge and skills. Your mentor(s) has the benefit of years of interpreting experience and can offer insights into your professional development. A mentor can also provide advice on work culture and ethics, including consumer perspectives and increasing your efficiency. Your mentoring relationship will be tailored to specific knowledge and skills you'd like to learn and be open to receiving additional wisdom.
Every mentorship is unique. Some people wish to focus on technical skills. Others may prefer a personal development mentor, which can involve helping to develop soft skills, career trajectory, networking and navigate the nuances of work culture.
